Nessa – Petite Purebred Nubian Doe

Nessa is a petite purebred Nubian doe and one of the original goats at The Tart Farm. She was a first freshener in 2026 and delivered twin bucklings. This gave us our first chance to watch her as a mother and young dairy doe. As one of our foundation girls, Nessa holds a special place in the herd.

Nessa moves through life at her own calm pace. She is not easily excited, and she rarely sees a reason to rush. At times, that can make chores take a little longer. However, her steady temperament is also one of her best traits. She helps bring balance to a herd full of stronger opinions.

A purebred Nubian, Nessa shows many classic traits of her breed. She has long, pendulous ears and a soft, gentle expression. Her smaller frame gives her a delicate look beside some of the other does. She is not the flashiest goat in the pasture. Instead, her quiet beauty grows on you over time.

Her first freshening season marked an important step in her development. We look forward to seeing how she matures as a dairy doe. We are also interested in what she brings to our breeding program over time. Nessa offers more than milk potential alone. She also brings calm, breed character, and a steady herd presence.

Nessa may not demand attention from across the pasture. Still, she is deeply woven into the heart of The Tart Farm. She is gentle, grounded, and dependable in her own unhurried way. Every herd needs a doe who keeps things steady. For us, that doe is Nessa.
