Our herdshare program is a way to become part of The Tart Farm story while participating in the ownership and care of our dairy herd and enjoying the benefits of fresh milk produced by the goats in season.
Members purchase a share in the herd and contribute a monthly upkeep fee that helps support feed, housing, veterinary care, supplies, and the daily work that goes into keeping a healthy, productive herd. In return, members receive a portion of the milk produced based on their share agreement and seasonal availability.
Because this is a real working herd, production naturally changes throughout the year with breeding cycles, kidding season, and the rhythms of farm life. Sharing in the herd means sharing both the abundance and the realities of small-scale agriculture.
But herdshare is about more than what comes home in a jar. It is a chance to know the animals, understand the seasons, visit the farm, meet spring kids, and experience a little of what it means to care for a small working dairy herd.
Availability is limited by the size of our herd. For current openings or to learn more, please visit our Contact page.
