Sage – A Loud Little Doe

Our newest doe is a very petite yearling with strong dairy lines and pending registration. She has not been bred yet. However, we hope to pair her in fall 2026. If all goes well, she could join our milking lineup in 2027.

At first glance, she looks mostly white. In truth, she is black with a heavy white overlay. She also has a few small brown patches. Altogether, her coloring has a soft, speckled look with a little surprise tucked underneath. Goat genetics do enjoy keeping things interesting.

She is currently in quarantine before joining the main doe group. This helps protect the rest of the herd. Once we are sure she is healthy, she will move in with Nessa and Ellie. For now, she can still see and hear the other goats nearby.

Being alone has made her a bit jumpy. She startles easily, which is common during quarantine. Still, she is not shy with people. In fact, she is a complete love bug. She enjoys attention and would be very easy to spoil. We are attempting to show restraint. Results may vary.

She is also loud. Very loud. She currently has the strongest set of lungs on the farm. This includes the bucklings, which is saying something. We hope her opinions become less urgent once she has roommates again.

This young doe brings promising dairy genetics and a sweet, people-loving nature to The Tart Farm. She is still growing into herself. Even so, we are excited to watch her mature. With time, confidence, and a little less solo commentary, she could become a lovely part of our future herd.
